TRANSMISSION DRIVE OPTIONS

The following Transmission Drive options can be selected by choosing from the Main Menu.

  • VEE BELTS
  • WEDGE AND POLY VEE BELT DRIVES
  • TOOTHED (Timing) BELT DRIVES
  • CHAlN DRIVES
  • COUPLINGS

DATABASES

Each Drive option is provided with a fully user accessible database. This means you are able to Add to the data provided with the package or Edit and Delete to suit your own or supplier specifications. You can print the database contents listing the component descriptions and prices. A price factoring facility is also provided allowing you to easily update all prices by a percentage.

Helix delta-R - DRIVE SELECTION INPUT ROUTINES

SELECTION INPUT

A simple step by step questionnaire allows you to enter the requested data such as Driver Speed, Driven Speed, Power to transmit, Shaft Dimensions and Centre Distances. A convenient electric Motor look-up facility is provided enabling you to enter the kW and number of poles and the Shaft, Frame size and motor speed will be retrieved from the Motor Database. This data can be automatically transferred to the selection input dialogue box. The program automatically calculates the service factor by displaying menu options for the operating conditions such as type of machine, type of start and operating hours per day. You can manually override the calculated service factor if required.

SELECTION CRITERIA

You are able to specify certain selection criteria such as the maximum and minimum pulley diameters, belt speed, number of belts, maximum trip rate, pulley width and dynamic load. these criteria can be saved which means each time you enter the program the selection will be based on your specified requirements.

SELECTION OUTPUT

When the input data has been entered simply click on the required Belt or Chain section. If you are unsure press F1 and a look-up Power Table will be displayed to guide your selection.

Then press Select and the Drive selection closet the required ratio will be displayed. You are then able to perform as many alternative selections as required from the same section or specify a different section or type of Drive for comparison. The selections will be displayed in summary format detailing the pulley or sprocket sizes, bush sizes, belt or chain lengths and the total price.

Helix delta-R - GENERAL CALCULATIONS

GENERAL CALCULATIONS

A number of useful general calculations are provided, such as:

  • calculate a centre distance
  • belt length belt /pulley speed and dynamic load.
  • Calculate torque from kW or kW from torque.

The output calculations can all be printed if required.

PLANT / MACHINE DATABASE

A Plant / Machine Database is provided allowing you to record details of the Transmission Drives, or any other information, in your plant. Records include the site/location, description supplier information and drive specifications. In addition you are able to add your own notes concerning maintenance records and procedures. This information will provide an invaluable tool for planned maintenance purposes and assist you to minimise maintenance and downtime costs.

Helix delta-R - HELP

delta-R is a simple to use menu driven package with prompted questionnaire input routines and dialogue boxes. Context sensitive On Screen Help is provided for all the functions and operating procedures. This means that wherever you are in the program and need help, press F1, and help relating to that particular topic will be displayed.

 

Helix delta-R - REPORTS, PRINTING OPTIONS & PASSWORD PROTECTION

REPORTS AND PRINTING OPTIONS

The drive selection summary report, technical selection report and graphics can all be copied and pasted to Microsoft Word or compatible word processor and customised into your own reports and style. This allows you to produce professional design reports in the font of your choice.

PASSWORD PROTECTION

The databases are provided with password protection facilities. this means that unauthorised persons can be prevented from changing or deleting the database files. An important feature of the database protection is that each database can be individually set to Protected or Unprotected mode.

delta R requires

  • Personal computer with 80386 or higher microprocessor.
  • 4 MB of RAM
  • 5MB of hard disk space.
  • 3 . 5 1 , 44MB disk drive .
  • Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or later version. Windows 95, 98 and Windows NT are optional.
  • Enhanced graphics adaptor (EGA) or better resolution monitor.
  • Printers, plotters and networks supported by Windows version 3 . 1 or later.
  • Microsoft mouse or compatible is recommended.
